"Caging the Forest Bird" is one of 4 paintings I created as part of a group show I participated in at the Raw Canvas gallery in Vancouver, BC. The theme for the show was "Concepts of Home" and it immediately struck me that where I feel most at home is when I'm out in nature, surrounded by the soft sounds of the leaves fluttering in the wind and the pine needles crunching under my feet.
Of course, the idea of painting traditional landscapes quickly got kgb-ed! My "normal" forest scene morphed into living in the forest inside the belly of a bird, a hollowed out acorn or, like a woodland creature motor home, riding on the back of a squirrel. Naturally!
The print size is 8" X 8" (20cm X 20cm) on archival matte paper with a lovely weight. With incredibly vibrant colors and sharp detail of the wood grain, your print will look almost like the original when hung under glass.
